Ever feel overwhelmed by the number of things you need to accomplish RIGHT NOW OR ELSE? Whether it’s in the next hour, or the next day, or by the end of the week, it can sure create stress and sometimes you may even feel pulled in all directions at once and you’re not sure where to start.
Believe it or not, the first thing you should do is sit right down and take 5-10 minutes (as needed) to write down EVERYTHING that is running around in your head. That 5-10 minutes is going to make you A LOT MORE EFFICIENT. Once you have your list written, prioritize each action by grading it from 1-10 (or 20) and put the number beside it. This will be the sequence that you accomplish each action in. Now you have a plan and just need to get started. You CANNOT do everything on the list all at the same time (even though you probably are a genius and quite willing to try).
Another alternative is to just grab the first thing on your mind and DO IT. Then take the next, and get it done. Do them one at a time with full attention for maximum speed. (Multi-tasking has been proven in many studies to be quite inefficient.)
Yet another system (see – you have choices!) is to take the easiest task on the list and get it done. Then take the next easiest and do that one, and so on. By the time you get to the later ones that are harder to accomplish, you will have built up a head of steam and have more confidence that you will complete even those.
Give yourself a “Get out of jail free” pass once in a while to celebrate accomplishments and progress.
Pick your system and GO FOR IT!
