Various aspects of your life, including your home life, your practice, your hobbies, and other interests can start flying out of your control and your stress level will start to escalate.
There are many ways of preventing this vicious downward spiral from even starting and keep you on top of your game.
Here are a few suggestions:
- If you are faced with a difficult situation, don’t put off dealing with it. Sit down and work out a little plan. Get different ideas as to how it would best be handled. You can start off by writing down the most despicable ideas if you are really mad, but then write some positive ones and choose the one where everybody wins. You will come away a better person.
- Expect the best results. If you are always looking for things to go wrong, you can bet you are going to be right more often than you would wish. If, however, you put your faith in people and situations to come out right, your positive mental attitude is going to bring that about a lot of the time.
- Don’t take on other people’s stress. Often other people in your environment try to embroil you into their life issues. Keep cool and exterior from it and ask questions of them to help them decide for themselves what they should do. It is their problem and you do not have to adopt it.
Keep smiling. That’s a great cure for stress!
