Are there times when you feel completely overwhelmed and not sure what to do or even who to talk to about it? Do you feel like “throwing in the towel” some days when things are going out of control? Are there some things that you simply don’t feel can be solved and you just want to walk away from the problem?
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
However, there are many ways of dealing with these situations and feelings but most of them boil down to just two choices:
And yes, just to bring it out in the open, one of the ways is that you can just admit defeat and say this is just too much for me to handle and I’m not doing it anymore and I quit! Many people have done that.
But there is a down side to this option that you should know about and factor into your decision. Each time you give up, you get smaller and less able. You have declared to the universe that you are not big enough or tough enough or alive enough to fight back and overcome that problem. Each time you quit or admit defeat, it becomes easier and easier to do, until you finally arrive at “complete failure.”
The second option is to face up to the difficulty and defeat it. Start by really looking at the problem or difficulty from all angles. Collect advice from friends or colleagues, but don’t necessarily follow it. You just want to see it from different views. It can help balance you or distance you from the immediateness of the difficulty so you can look at it more objectively.
Ultimately, you will need to come to a decision of your own. Try to find a solution that helps or benefits as many people as possible. You want always to take a positive stand that harms the least and benefits the most … even if you feel like breaking someone’s neck! You just need to cool down and get a “long view” on the situation first before you take action.
Almost any difficulty or situation can be resolved if you just stay strong and apply the suggestions above. But be sure never to give up. Each time you overcome a problem area, you get stronger. Look at all the times you HAVE beaten something or solved a major problem!
Be strong and never give up. YOU CAN DO IT!
