One of the hardest things to do sometimes is believing in yourself and keeping faith with yourself. Sometimes you do dumb things or say things that aren’t strictly true or are out of line, and you can feel the deepest regret and for a short time feel that you are a bad person.
And just so you know, bad people NEVER feel that about themselves – they can’t admit even to themselves that they have done something wrong. They usually just try and figure out who to blame it on or how to skate out of trouble. So if you CAN admit that you have done something wrong, then you are a basically GOOD person.
Here’s the question though: How do you get yourself to keep believing in yourself despite the occasional (or frequent) slip ups in life?
How to Make it All Right Again
Here are some possible ways to get to feeling proud of yourself again:
- If you just made a faux pas (did something wrong), confront fully what it was that YOU did and see if you can find a way to make it right again. Ask the person(s) concerned how you can make it right, if it involved other people. And then do what is needed to fix it. You can do it!
- Go out of your way to do something nice for someone that really deserves some help. Helping others is what we are all about, and it certainly feels good when you do it and brings back your self esteem.
- Make a list of your excellent qualities.
- List out a bunch of friendship and help you have given others. Good deeds. Things you have done right.
If you do all of the above, you will see that you can take responsibility for things and make them right again. And you will believe in yourself again!
I believe in you!
