Going in to work every day can be a drudgery or a feel like a duty to show up. Same old, same old. Everyone reports in and gets on with the day.
Then there are the bad news bears (sometimes patients, sometimes staff) that bring in negativity and bad news to the practice. Brings everyone “down” and rains on the day.
But where’s the fun? Where’s the razz-ma-tazz? Going to work and giving great care and service to the patients is supposed to be uplifting and interesting.
Have you ever noticed how much gets done in a day where everyone is “in a great mood,” and that on those days, things run smoothly?
Put the fun back into the practice:
Well, here is a tip on how to bring the tone of the group up a few notches and create those “special” days everyday. I got this idea from a friend who said it turned around his whole team.
It has to do with a certain stuffed monkey (a really cute one). It is an award and is given at the weekly staff meeting to the staff member who did the most to bring the other members of the team “up” that week. All the staff got into it and the whole mood of the office lifted from the minute they started it.
Increase team cooperation and morale:
The team cooperation improved, the number of “problems” dropped, their clients noticed the change and production skyrocketed with the morale increase.
The cute monkey became a coveted award and everyone worked hard to earn it.
Try this idea on for size and see what happens! Should be as much fun as a barrel of monkeys!
