1. Formulate new management goals
Resting on your laurels is only good for short amounts of time and then it can become a static pattern. Every once in a while, it is a really excellent idea to do a good analysis of where you and your practice are at and work out how to shake things up and move up to another level. You can do this by yourself, or with a colleague, or your spouse, or even your team.
2. Renovate, Reinvent or Redecorate
Dental practices get tired looking after 5-8 years. If you formulate a redecoration plan that can be gradually carried out over time, you can even involve your patients in the decision-making by having a little chart on the wall with 3 samples of flooring, 3 paint colours, etc. Then they can vote for their preferences. It makes them feel involved and builds loyalty.
Alternatively, you may want to change up the structure of the practice or add ops or move walls. Plan it out with a decorator and get going.
3. Dental management expert
Perhaps you should consider hiring a dental consultant to strategize the actualization of your goals for your dental office. Some dentists have had at least 3 different dental management experts give them help over the years. If they have consulted more than 700 dentists as our company has, they will have a wide-angle vision of what’s possible and all the different dental management systems available for you to choose from.
4. Dental expertise
Have you been keeping up with dental technology? There are so many new tools and instruments and equipment bursting onto the dental scene these days. Working with old, tired equipment can be depressing and slow you down. Attend trade shows, or get your dental supply reps to visit you and plan out future buys.
5. Dental techniques
There is certainly a plethora of dental courses available from implants, to cosmetic, to Invisiline, to implant supported dentures, to new materials, and so on. If you haven’t been attending courses for a while, perhaps now would be a good time to set yourself up to start one or two. Put some fresh interest into your practice and give your patients better options and care.
